Vulcano – Salina – Stromboli – Lipari – Etna – Gole dell’Alcantara

1° Day : Catania Airport – Vulcano

Arrival at Catania Airport, transfer to Milazzo port, departure by boat to Vulcano island.

Arrrival in Vulcano, luggage transfer to the hotel, check in at the hotel.

Dinner at the restaurant and overnight stay at the hotel.

2° Day : Vulcano

Breakfast at the hotel.

The day is dedicated to the discovery of the island with climb to the crater “Fossa del Vulcano” at the altitude of 330 metres. From the top it will be possibl e to admire a stunning view, the fumaroles and the sulfur crystals of the volcan. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, spare time for a bath in the renowned mud pool, with its healing and therapeutic properties. Dinner at the restaurant, overnight stay at the hotel.

3° Day : Vulcano – Salina – Vulcano

Breakfast at the hotel.

Hydrofoil transfer to Salina, so-called “the green island” due to its two mountains with a conic shape. Amazing panoramic views and lush forests will show up during the day reaching the mountain top “ Monte Fossa delle Felci” (950 mt.), nature reserve of the island. Free time for lunch. Visit of a wine cave. Salina is famous for the production of capers and a typical dessert wine called “Malvasia”.

Return to Vulcano island in the late afternoon.

Dinner at the restaurant, overnight stay at the hotel.

4° Day : Vulcano – Lipari – Vulcano

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for Lipari. Excursion to the east side of the Island, among the vineyards and the terraces overlooking the sea. Amazing view on Vulcano island and the north coast of Sicily. Free time for lunch.

Optional visit of the Archeological Museum in the afternoon. Then return to Vulcano island.

Dinner at the restaurant, overnight stay at the hotel.

5° Day : Vulcano – Stromboli

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for Stromboli. luggage transfer to the hotel, check in and lunch at the hotel.

During the afternoon, climb to the Stromboli crater (950 mt.) with vulcanologist guide. Time for a stop to admire the volcanic activities and the explosions. Return in the late evening. Free dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

6° Day : Stromboli – Etna (Nicolosi)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Luggage transfer to the port, departure for Milazzo, free lunch.

Transfer to Nicolosi, check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

7° Day: Etna – Gole dell’Alcantara

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to about 1900 mt of altitude, then continuation by foot. Exploration of the volcanic side, walking thorough the woods and the extinct craters. Discovery of the charming volcanic phenomena that followed during the centuries. Visit of one of the caves of the lava flow. Free time for lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to the visit of the “Gole dell’Alcantara” with its geometric rocks of volcanic origin.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

8° Day : Etna – Catania Airport

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to Catania Airport.

Remarks :

The Italian authority “protezione civile” (civil protection) could limit or prohibit the access to the Stromboli and Etna in the case of an increase of the volcanic activity.

All the new hotel buildings are conceived according to rigid architectural criteria in order to preserve the typical aeolian style. The maximum height is 7,50 mt. Rooms are located on the ground floor or first floor and they usually have only one opening (window or balcony)

Many hotels do not have a restaurant. In this case, half board pension will be served in another restaurant in agreement with the hotel.

As a group, all the guests will be placed together in a big table (or more than one) according to the availability of the restaurant.

The menu is prearranged (set menu). Typical Regional and Aeolian dishes will be served.

The program is subject to changes, inversion or suppression of the excursions due to bad weather and sea conditions or for other technical issues. For all these occurrences there is no refund.

Excursions are operated with motorboats, hydrofoils and ferryboats. They are collective vessels, so they are not intended for exclusive use. In the high season, they may have delays. As a consequence, there might be a waiting at the port (either at the boarding or at the disembarkation).

According to the schedule of some flights, it could be necessary to arrange one night stay in Sicily either at the arrival or at the departure.
